Gettysburg trip

On the weekend of april 26th, the scouts attended Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the home of the famous civil war battle. We went on 2 hikes over the period of four days. The first hike was about 3 miles, a guided tour of some monuments. The second, about nine miles, was a hike narrated by the amazing Mr. Burt, and his Travelers guide to Ghettysburg. The camp ground was great, they had a baseball field, a basketball court, and a dance. We played everything possible, even went down the "Slide of doom" possibly the highest slide many of us have seen. Over all it was a great trip and we all had a lot of fun.

King Tut

During the weekend of March 9-11, we went to the King Tut exhibit at the Ben Franklin Museum of Science. The Museum in itself was very interesting. We stayed at Inadowindowin Girl Scout Camp. The Museum was fun, there were many scientific, fun things to do. They had a giant heart which you can walk through, an entire aviation wing, which includes paper air plane challenges and a virtual flight simulator. The Train Factory at the museum had a crime scene which you must solve. There were many more cool and interesting science exhibits. In the King Tut exhibit, there were ancient artifacts, and tombs of Tutankhamen's close friends and family. It was very interesting. The camp out was fun, and we learned many things. I would recommend the Ben Franklin Museum of Science to any one looking for a fun, interesting, learning experience.

Camp Whiting 3-

On the weekend of March 23-25 we built a monkey bridge and enjoyed crossing it as well as flag raising ceremonies adn teaching tenderfeet the skills of using knife hatchet and axe. Playing on the field was great and the short time in the cabin during the evening rain helped keep us dry.
